Mission Statement
Diversiteam is an organization led by the students at the Early College Alliance at Eastern Michigan University. We promote diversity and work to bring our community together. Our organization strives to better our school, campus, and community by actively participating in conversations, addressing topics, and bringing awareness to issues related to diversity and inclusivity. We value and uphold diversity, inclusion, respect, and integrity.
Before the summer of 2020, Diversiteam was a committee in Student Leaders, another student group at the Early College Alliance. However, the Diveristeam committee was active only occasionally, when it was believed to be relevant. When the Black Lives Matter movement was brought back into the spotlight during 2020, Diveristeam became a group that was ongoing and independent.

The founders, Chi and Brianna, worked to bring structure to Diversiteam. As time went on, more people joined to grow Diversiteam and make it into an organized, independent, and student-led organization.
